I'm a BSN nursing student who wants to work in the NICU after I graduate. I have just been offered a new position called a nurse tech in the NICU. This position will be brand new for the hospital as well. It's in a level 3 NICU and I'll be tasked with feedings, diaper changes, weighing, and keeping the unit clean.
I really want to make the most of this experience and learn a ton. How can I make a good impression on the other nurses and management? How can I enhance my learning in this opportunity? I'm looking for any advice to help me make the most of this amazing experience.
Thanks!

I would say do the same things that would be expected of any good coworker. Be on time, be personable, and willing to help out. Since this type of position will be new to the nurses make sure they are aware of what you can do to help them out. If you're done with any assigned tasks don't just sit around, offer to help someone else, restock supplies, etc. If you aren't sure of something be sure to ask for help.
