what to do next???

i got my license 6 moths ago and after two weeks i got hired at a subacute rehab nursing center. I LOVE MY JOB. i love the people who works with me. im really happy. but ive always wanted to work in a hospital. i know i need more experience as this is what hospitals require.

my question is...what else can i do? what other options do i have as a post grad? other than being a nurse practitioner what else can i specialize in?

how about a clinical instructor? what are the requirements?

im still young and im really excited to venture on my career. im 21 and an RN BSN. please help me and guide me to the right direction. thank you :)

So nice to hear that you have a job you love.

The possiblities are pretty much open to you. Education is an important factor, but to use a research term -- it is "necessary but not sufficient" to get you where you want to go. As time goes on, your experience and personal preferences should provide you with directions for career development.

What do you like best about your job? What do you really look forward to? For instance, if you really like patient teaching or conducting inservices - head in the education direction. If you get a lot of satisfaction for organizing activities or leading projects, you might want to move into management. On the other hand, if you're really good at identifying and fixing problems you may be a natural for risk management or performance improvement. Are you a computer whiz who is really into new technology?? Go for informatics!

In the meantime, don't forget to enjoy your work and keep on learning as much as you can everyday. Best of luck to you!
