i want a career change into the medical field. i have tons of questions. i am searching my options for cna training. i have found a training program for ekg and phlebotomy certification. will that help me in obtaining a cna position? also, will it increase the rate of pay? i do not want to waste time or money for training that will not have a impact.

Well, the information you learn in EKG or phlebotomy such as infection control etc. will help you- but you'd learn that in your CNA class so it would be redundant to take it just to help you in a CNA position. Taking the other courses would offer you more versatility if you went into those fields, but wouldn't necessarily offer you more for your CNA position. It *might* increase your rate of pay, because you would be more versatile- but at the same time, I'm not sure they'd be able to double dip on your time to be able to effectively use you in a dual certification like that, so.... Honestly I'd just stick with one or the other... You'd be more likely IMO to find a facility that is willing to train you- for free- for either of those specialties. MHO. Good luck!
