Hi everyone, I currently work at stony brook hospital and am considering a move. Anyone know of the schedules for nurses on Long Island? Looking for a hospital that is 3 12's. Anyone have any ideas?

I live on LI and most hospitals in the area are 12 hour shifts. I work in the city and its been a while since I worked in a LI hospital or looked for work in a LI hospital so things can be different now but I have friends that work in hospitals all over the island(Northwell and Catholic health service affiliated) and they all work 12 hour shifts with the exception of one who works outpatient surgery and works 6am-2pm.
PS-Stony Brook university hospital saved my life! I was in a very bad MVA and had to be airlifted there and the trauma team was fabulous. Miraculously I walked out of the hospital about 8 days later.
thanks for the reply! I'm looking for a hospital that is exactly 3 12's per week though. I don't want to work a thirteenth shift per month. at stony brook we work 6 12's and an 8 hour shift in a two week period so its extra days. I'm looking to work less and make more lol.
that is amazing to hear about your experience. I'm so glad everything went so well for you!!! Stony Brook hospital is amazing and I would gladly stay if I were compensated better. let me know if anyone has any ideas!

I work at NYP/Columbia. Yes, we do work 13 shifts (all 12 hour shifts), however I will say that the salary is about $20K more than Stony Brook (I was hired at Stony just before I got hired at NYP a little over a year and a half ago, as a new grad).
