 I filled out the paperwork for financial aid and got the message today that it is processed and available for the school to look at, Im filling out the application for the school tomarrow. I want to be a LPN to begin with and then work as I go for my RN. My question is this- for any of you that have done that- what kind of classes am I going to have to take to make LPN? Im lost as to what to take, If it helps I will be going (if accepted) to ETSU College of Nursing. They are accredited and highly follow up with their students who are working now in the field. Thanks for any info

Can't answer your questions, but wanted to say welcome and good luck with your application!

Specializes in Trauma ICU, MICU/SICU.

I'm a net geek so I looked up ETSU College of Nursing.

They don't offer an LPN program. Perhaps you saw LPN-BSN and thought it was an LPN and then BSN program?

LPN-BSN is a BS curriculum for LPN's (ones that are already LPN's). I suggest you make an appointment with an admissions counselor to see what you need to do to get admitted into the nursing program.

Traditionally in any nursing program, you need to take Pre-requisites first. Like Eng 1 & 2, Math (course varies with program), Chem Classes (courses vary with program), Microbiology, A&P I&II, etc.

Here's the suggested curriculum for the BSN program at ETSU http://www.etsu.edu/etsucon/curriculum.htm

So, again your best bet is to speak with an admissions counselor at your school to see your best plan of attack.

Good luck!
