:chuckle Hi! I am interested in travel nursing. Have looked at numerous companies - they all sound alike. Have talked to some recruiters that I immediately liked. So, how do you choose? I've been to Delphi too - they have lots of info!

:balloons: Thanks

Do they have something in the area where you wish to travel?

Are they willing to put everything in writing that they are offering to you?

What is the facility like? Location?

Is there someone available twenty-four hours a day for you to speak to, or just an answering service? These things are just the beginning of what you need to know.

Good luck...................... :balloons:

I guess that's what's worrying me - they all say the things I want to hear right now - do they live up to their promises in real life? Or is that something that I just have to "Live & Learn"?:coollook: :coollook:

Really talk with the recruiters, call their payroll people--I guess before you take that leap be sure about the company, but mostly be sure about yourself-are you ready?

I always advise my friends and co-workers thinking about travel nursing to try a local agency first. You know a perdiem shift at an area facility. Can you function with little or no orientation, do you need a preceptor, can you adapt to different-sometimes very different policies or practices?

I travelled for the better part of 12 years, loved it.. I highly encourage anyone to give it a try. You meet some great people, see new places and get to experience nursing from many perspectives. But if you are set in your ways or believe there is only one RIGHT way to do something-it may not be for you. I am not suggesting short cuts or sloppy dangerous practices, just realize what is common or policy in one state may be totally dif in another.

Thanks. I am pretty adaptable, still new to nursing so I don't have a "set" way of doing things yet! Love to travel and see new places & meet new people. So maybe I'm ready! I'll never really know until I do it, tho.
