this one-hour webinar focused on the role of school nurses in all-hazards school emergency management planning, framed around the four phases of emergency management: prevention-mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. the webinar was presented by our colleagues from the national association of school nurses.

participants learned about the vital role of school nurses and the importance of forming a multidisciplinary team around emergency preparedness for their institution and/or district.

specifically, participants learned about:

  • the role of the school nurse in disaster preparedness
  • nursing triage
  • students with special needs
  • the three "c's" of working with school and community partners
