I would keep it 100 about how I wound up in this niche market but I know how ugly some people on here can be. Anyways, I've been doing nightshifts for a month. I have a trach/vent gbutton pt that is under 6months old. How marketable doesthis experience make me. PT has decannulated on me twice and hadto be ambulanced to the pedi er once on me. I kinda want to go back to a hospital for socialization reasons. Or at least get a shorter commute and dayshift work. But I seem to think I may have found a nice little niche market that could work perfectly for me given better circumstance.Loveto hear yalls opinions

The denomination that experience is traded in is years. A month at anything doesn't really help that much. At the six month mark of showing up every day, doing your paperwork correctly, AND showing sound clinical judgement you will most likely be able to work with your scheduler to get a case you may like better. Most likely though until your at the year mark your new, nothing but new, and you don't have a lot of capital to spend on a new or better job.

Why did the pt have to go to the hospital after decannulation?
Did you or the parents attempt to place it back in?
