New RN and Pregnant

Published

Hello All,

New RN just found I am pregnant (9 weeks), starting a new RN job on an oncology unit (dream job)!! Totally not planned went to a routine checkup and was completely surprised. Anyone ever been in this situation or Know of anyone who has gone through this. How did you manage. I am nervous because I will be brand new , training and trying to learn the ropes. I don't want a temporary situation to have a negative impact on my career. Maybe I'm overthinking, I don't know. Any (positive) advice will be helpful.

Thank you

Congratulations!

The link above will take you to a similar conversation. I'd strongly suggest that you educate yourself on the potential consequences of hanging chemo while pregnant and make a decision as to what you feel is the best course of action for you and your child.

I certainly hope that this works out for you in a way that allows you to keep, or come back to, this job. Congrats!
