i am just wondering if anyone else has had difficulty with the newer (enfamil, in particular) plastic formula bottles. they are very hard to open and i have torn a tendon in my left hand doing so. thanx for any input.

Oh, yeah! We complained about a year ago or so, and I thought they seemed easier that previously. It does help to tap the base of the bottle on the palm of your hand pretty firmly before trying to unscrew the top.

When I have to put 24 hours worth into a kangaroo pump, I use one of those round rubber gripper things to open all the bottles.

The enfamil reps left a special gripper to help open the bottles. Of course those disappeared after a couple of months. Now I just fight with them.

thanx for reply. i have sustained a pretty severe injury. after opening hundreds of bottles in my career, just one did the damage. we have been put in harm's way by the manufacturers. if reps are passing out 'special grippers' then they know they have a problem. to you that are still 'fighting with them'--please take care of your hands. i am a musician, as well as a NICU nurse, and i may never play again (or work) if this does not heal. thanx again for posting.
