New pedi psych nurse

I just had my first day of orientation as a per diem RN on a midlevel pedi psych floor that treats patients ages 5-16. I worked a double (by choice) and I did NOT want to leave at 11:30!! I absolutely loved it. It was so hectic on 3-11 and I thrived on it! The nurse manager is phenomenal, my preceptors are excellent teachers, and the MHCs are truly the core of our floor. They make the shift run so smoothly and are such positive role models for the kids. I mostly just soaked everything in today and I can't wait to really get my hands dirty and use that RN title!
