By the grace of God I was hired at a prestigious plastic surgery center in Beverly Hills and I'm a new grad. They don't have a real orientation program and I am so lost. I don't want to mess this up cuz it's a huge opportunity. I'm only work as a circulating nurse and recovery nurse. Is thee anything I can read or do to familiarize myself with the different expectations per procedure? I don't know how to set up! HELP!

Unfortunately you are starting out at a surgery center and I truly hope they at least precept you for a while because if they don't you will not have the basic foundation of peri-op 101 and learn bad habits that come from surgery centers and later if you decide to go into a hospital setting it will show.

I think that's generalizing a bit too much. Yes, ambulatory surgery centers may not have the structured orientation of periop101, but bad habits can be learned anywhere, as can good ones. It all depends on the culture of the organization, not if it's a hospital or ASC.
