Hi fellow nurses! I recently got a job as a OR Circulator Nurse :crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2: (Tears of Joy!), I want to know what are your advices/ideas/opinions on what books/websites/videos/other references I may use to prepare myself in this exciting department. I know its going to be tough and I want to prepare myself for the challenges I will face.

Thanks in advance for your comments, I really appreciate your help! :yeah::yeah::yeah:

Join AORN. They have all sorts o videos and books to learn from. Even do a CNOR review course. Google these terms if you don't know. There is a lot of info on the web.

Thanks Argo. I visited the AORN webpage and i saw the videos you were talking about. Omg! Those are expensive. :crying2: :crying2: :crying2: I`m still searching the web for other sources.

Kind of a bummer. That's life though, pay with money or time to learn your base skills. One way or another you will get to the same end point. The $$$$ just gets you there quicker.

Your hospital may have those books and videos for you. Talk to your educator. They may also be able to sign you up for the Periop 101 course. Alexander's is a good reference. Just buying the AORN standards book will give you plenty of help.
