New Nurse Residency Pay?

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hi all,

I'll be graduating with my BSN soon(ish) and was curious what the hourly pay rate for the various new nurse residency programs look like. I've been told that UCH doesn't pay very much for new nurse residents but can't seem to find out more information or any specifics on pay rates at various hospitals.

On a related topic, do you get paid less as a new nurse resident than just as a new nurse?

Any information would be helpful - thank you!!!:geek:

I want to say the new grad RNs at UCH pay around $24/hour. Then when you finish your residency and become an RN II after one year, you get a raise.

A hospital that has a new grad residency does not hire just "new RNs" - ALL new grads that are hired by a hospital that has a residency program are hired through the residency. So they don't have "new grads" and "new grad residents" with two different pay rates.
