My personal feeling is that BMT is rather intensive for a new grad. I would say go for the more general oncology/haematology experience first and then if you like it, think of progressing to BMT at a later stage.
That's my personal view having done both. At the end of the day, go with your gut feeling.
Best of luck!

Hi!
I am a new grad.
Which of the four oncology specialties would be best for a new grad ? Thank you ?
7NE/Medical Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant: 30 bed unit specializing in the care of patients undergoing stem cell transplantation and heme onc patients. Complex care requirements include scheduled chemotherapy and symptom management.
7SE/Med-Surg Oncology: 28-bed unit offering care to patients undergoing surgery, chemotherapy, and/or biologicals. Care includes aggressive curative therapy, symptom management and palliative care. All nurses are chemotherapy certified, with education provided on an ongoing basis.
8NE/Blood and Marrow Transplant/Oncology: 20-bed unit for patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant (bone marrow, peripheral or cord blood transplant) and immunotherapy.
8SA/Acute Leukemia: 30 bed unit specializing in the care of patients with acute leukemia. Emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration for complex patients moving across the continuum throughout the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
