New here and need help!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi I am new to this site and I applied for two nursing schools. I just received my NLN scores and I have no idea whether I passed or not. My schools need you to have atleast a 50%. There are so many scores on here not sure what is what. My composite Score is 100, but my composite & scores are 54, 52, 52! Did I pass? I got 34/60 on verbal, 16/40:crying2: on math, and 34/60 on Science-these are considered the Raw score. Can someone please help? I'm driving myself crazy:o

What program is it ADN, BSN or Diploma?

There should be 3 columns one is DI, AD, and other.

Your score is under the column for which program you will be applying or into.

If your school only requires a 50, then yes you passed.

Congrats and good luck

Hi there...Just took my NLN also so I know they are confusing to understand. This is what I was told by our admissions director. 100 is the average score for composite. Just as the last poster explained there are three columns, diploma based, adn based, and BSN based. If you look at them you will see where you scored against those entering the same programs as you. Also, if you have a score of 54 % that basically means that you scored better than 54 % of those taking the same test, and 46 % of the people taking the test scored better than you. From what I understand they mostly go by your composite score and the score you get for the program you are applying to, ex. DI, ADN, or BSN.I would call your school and make sure they think those scores are acceptable or rather competative for the program you're entering. Good luck!

Hi, I will be applying to the Diploma program, but my second choice school is an Associates degree, so I have a 54% in DI, and 52% in Associates program. Thanks so much for the info. I was up all night worrying about this!

hey, thanks for the help! I am applying for the diploma program so I got a 54% in that. Hopefully it's good enough! I'm sick of driving myself crazy worrying all the time! Thanks again!

I posted you a private message in your box. If you don't get it or don't know how to let me know.

Every school has it's own "pass" criteria, but in my ADN they require at score of 100 or better, the higher you score, the more points you get towards acceptance. You must score in the 50th percentile or better (which comes out to a "score" of 100). I hope that makes sense. They told me if you got a composite score of at least 100, then you have passed the 50th percentile.

The 3rd column is ALL. This is your comparison to all 3 of the programs for RN, not a column for BSN (at least not on my form, but it is 5 years old, so things may have changed). As long as the Composite percentiles are over 50, you did it!!!! Congrats!

Woogy
