Specializes in ED MS.

Hello ALL!

Does anyone work here? This hospital is in the Bronx NY. I was wondering if there are certain skills i must know ect. Generally speaking what skills must i KNOW while working at a med surge floor? Any tips? Im scared but excited!

Specializes in ICU / PCU / Telemetry / Oncology.

How is it going? I'm just curious, I've only ever been a patient there, that was about 15 years ago. I wasn't a nurse back then and I cant even begin to tell you how my nursing care was or even who he or she was. All I remember is the nasty orange flavored barium I had to drink for the CT scan, the rude phlebotomist waking me up early for blood draw, my roommate having bloody urine in a foley (he had stones I think), and me lugging around an IV pole with what I now know was lactated ringers.

Don't recall much of the ER either, I was in so much pain to even remember details.

Hello! Happy to say that I learned a lot there. Now in the ED!! Love the ED. Would never go back to the med surg floor.
