I graduated in 2010. Took my nclex on feb 19th. I am having a hard time finding a job in the sacramento area. Does anyone have any tips for me or places that may be hiring? I know i am probably limitted to SNF. But i am open to anything at this point. Am i looking at the wrong places for jobs? Any websites i haven't used? Indeed, monster, craigslist. This is driving me crazy. When i was is schhol they top us there are several openings available, but every ad i see requires a year experience. Thanks in advance for any advise.

I've been hearing that hospitals aren't hiring LVN's for some reason. Is that the issue in your area? You maybe are limited to a SNF at this point, but I would keep trying acute. Have you tried home health? LVN's save home health money compared to RN's doing visits. If you do apply to SNF's call all SNF's in your area, generally they don't run adds, and because SNF's have high turn over rates call them, and even if they're not hiring submit an application.
Also if you do interview for a SNF do some research on the ones you are applying to, you can research to see how they did in state survey's which tell you a lot. There are plenty of great SNF's out there and also plenty of bad. Also when you interview go about 40 minutes early and ask if you can look around, or just sit somewhere and observe if the nurses seem stressed, observe what the staff are like to one another even to you, observe what type of patients they have and see if you can handle it. Another suggestion is after the interview ask if you can speak to the staff nurses, cna's whoever and ask for their opinion on how they like their job etc, now most will lie, but at least you're trying to see if you're getting a good SNF. Also if you don't have good vibes about the DON see what happens. Ask questions in the interview such as how many nurses on days, pms, and nights, how many patients can the facility hold, how many CNA's are on board each shift, etc.
Good luck

Try careerbuilder.com and also try looking towards the agencies as they seem to be placing new grads in the prison system. A friend of mine works there and she got her job right after she received her license. Good Luck
