I have applied to NP school and would like to know which position is best. I currently am a supervisor in home health but have been offered a position as a Health and Wellness Director of an Assisted Living facility. I have always worked in surgery or home health and would like to know if moving into this new position will lessen my marketability once I finish NP school.
Also they have advised with this new position that my chances of being promoted throughout the company to Executive Director are likely. I have accepted the position, have I made the right decision?
Any input will be appreciated, thank you.

I don't think many care about your experience as a RN.
Most interviews i have had for NP care more about your clinical experiences..
My experience as a Peds RN did help me get a job in a Peds hospital as a FNP though.
So...
What do you want to do?
If you want to do Emergency, or critical care, or cardiac, i think it does help the employer know you are interested in that area if you worked some as that as a RN.
But it sounds like you are doing management positions, so that should look good on resume.
I dunno, when you start as FNP its kinda like starting over with a blank slate. After i get a few yrs experience I may delete my RN experience off my resume.. Because it really is a totally different role, but for now its all i got...
One recruiter told me to list my clinicals on my resume because that was more important to employers than past RN experience.
hope that helps some.
