Welcome, and best of luck with nursing school.
It's not just a job--it's an Adventure. Also a Horror Story, Mystery/Suspense Thriller, Tear-jerker, occassionally a Comedy, touch of Sci-Fi here and there...if it starts turning into one of those old MGM musicals, it may be time to take a little break. Rated R for adult themes and occassional nudity.
Thanks Stephen. I see your located near the Jersey Shore. I am originally from Bergen County. My inlaws had a home in Beach Haven. The summers were crazy and the rest of the year, the area was deserted. Absolutely loved it there. I use to go fishing a lot in Atlantic Highlands and Point Pleasant. Fishing has really been slow lately and I have not gone in the last 2-3yrs easy.
Looking forward to a new beginning and having a more meaningful career. My wife thinks I am crazy….but I think this is why she married me anyway. My oldest daughter thinks it is so cool. But I think she has wanted me to get out of working in NY…ever since 9/11.
LOLOLOLOL !thanks for the welcome and well wishes.
some think I am crazy when I tell of my career change plans. Oh well....hehehe
Let 'em think what they want. I'm here to tell you that in this business, being crazy is a good thing...
Welcome to the forums, and much good luck and success to you, buddy.
A career change is always stressful. There will be times, while, your in school your going to stop and question yourself. Perseverance is the key, but understand. It doesn't take a mathematician to clean poop or sit quietly at the beside of a dying patient. Nursing is not always , as I call it the "Grey's Anatomy" syndrome. Some days it's just going in having a quiet day and knowing you may have made a slight difference in someone's life or all your hard work just fell on deaf ears. good luck but be realistic

Just a little info about myself.....I want/need a career change. I have my bachelors degree in Risk Management with concentrations Actuarial Science and Finance. Up until 3yrs ago...I worked as a Trader for a brokerage in NY. Currently working in the Annuities area of the same employer pricing Annuities. I was first introduced to nursing by an aunt, who was one of the head nurses at the old Bergen Pines Hospital in NJ. I did well in math and always had an interest in finance and investments....and made a career out of one of my hobbies. Big Mistake. Unfortunately, this is no longer fun and i dread walking thru the doors. Just a little something about myself.
Currently enrolled at a community college and taking Anatomy and Physiology I. registered for A&P II for the spring.
Thanks in advance !
