For those of you out there that are being hired into the field as an RN are you eing offered sign on bonuses? If so, around how much? I just finished nursing school and have been a stay at home mom for 9 years and I am getting back into the interview, job negotiation thing and I am just curious. Thanks for you input. By the way, I am new to the forum and you have all been so helpful, informative, and funny!

Thanks for all the info. I truly appreciate the input. Never even considered that a bonus could be offered because of such a high turn over. Told you I've been out of the work field for 9 years. This website is so great and so helpful. Have a good day!

  :redlight: :redlight: 2 points. First, BEWARE of sign-on bonus! Second...money is NOT everything! I learned first hand myself. The bonus may seem $$$, but received 1st bonus in 2 checks with LOTS of taxes taken out. Worst hospital to work at...EVER! The travelers would come to work and refuse to return to the unit. Lots of issues such as: unsafe staffing, management horrible, longer term employees not helping newer employees...just awful experience. Thank God I got out of that hospital. Just my opinion. :trout:

I was offered 3K as a sign-on bonus with a contract for 1 year, but quit from that horrible place after a few months without taking it.
