I was hoping to try and talk to somebody who either currently works at NHRMC or has recently. There are such terrible reviews by RNs on different sites. I am going to be relocating to either Charleston SC or Wilmington NC. Now I now there are many more choices in Charleston and most would encourage me to lean that way but the Real Estate Market is much better in Wilmington. I know NHRMC is the only game in town and therefore continues to pay much lower than others because they can but I want to know about working conditions, morale ,attitude of management etc. My personal email is [email protected] if you prefer to reply that way. Thanks

Hey!

I left NHRMC about 5 months ago to start travel nursing. I can't say what it's like in every unit, but I worked in pediatrics. It is definitely a low paying hospital - I had 3 years of nursing experience when I started there and only started at 20 dollars and received one raise in my two years there, bringing to a total of 21.12 I think. Shift diff and weekend diff weren't anything substantial. As for morale, I left my unit due to management problems, but again, that was just in my area.

I love Wilmington as a whole though - the city is gorgeous and there's tons to do. For being a rich community, cost of living isn't bad at all.

I can't tell you anything about Charleston, but I don't think the pay is that great there either. The city itself is awesome.
