What are some expectations you all have for new graduate nurses coming on to your department?

Be by our sides whenever we are bedside
Be engaged with every skill or task we are performing.
When given the opportunity either from your preceptor or another nurse to observe or perform a skill, do it.
If you don't know something or don't understand something, ask someone. It is better to ask someone than to do it incorrectly.
If you and your preceptor are not a good match after a few shifts together, ask for a new preceptor.

Agree with PP but I would add that before asking for a new preceptor, be clear on what would help you learn.
