New Graduate RN-Miami

Hello,

I am a recent RN graduate from Duke University, newly relocated to Miami for my husbands job. I was offered a position where I did my clinical practicum in the Cardiac-ICU at Duke Hospital, as well as in the SICU and Neuro-ICU, yet here I am having difficulty finding a job as a new grad. My goal is to work in Critical Care, as I intend to pursue graduate school in the near future.

Am I correct in understanding the Miami area hospitals only hire new grads for a residency? And residency programs are only a 1 or 2 times a year? Also, I was told many hospitals have internal "Scholar" programs that are given preferential opportunities?

Any advice or insight on how to obtain a job or residency position as a new grad in Miami would be greatly appreciated!
