New Grad Success

Published

Any new grads out there who managed to get a job right out of school relatively quickly? If so, I would love to hear your success story! I would also like to know what you did to get that job!

I'm simply curious, I've read countless stories of people struggling to find work.... But I'm sure there's a few of you out there who snatched up jobs pretty quickly :)

Well I'm not a new new grad (2010) but I graduated on a Saturday and had my first day of orientation Monday. I went to work for a smaller community hospital so they are always happy to have nurses and take new grads a lot. The pay was pretty comparable but some of the other perks just aren't there due to the size of the hospital I assume. But it was ok with me because an hours drive to the larger hospitals just wasn't worth the aggravation.

Wow!! That's neat :) Do you still work there?

I do but in a different area. With a community hospital (especially where you grew up) it's kind of fun because you're somehow connected to each patient.
