I think that salary is very good. It's not much less than what the hospitals in Boston pay, and you dont have to pay all that extra money for rent, food, parking, etc....prices in Boston are so expensive. I'm not graduating for another two years. Is there a chance they will at some point hire new grads? Is there any particular reason they dont hire new grads and has it always been that way?
Thanks!
They are not especially new grad friendly to be honest. They don't have a dedicated new grad residency program. If you have your heart set on working there your best bet is to obtain a PCT position while in nursing school. They also only hire new grads to med-surg, without exception. It's a great hospital with great staff for the most part though!
It's basically a CNA. Different hospitals use different titles for their aides/nursing assistants. It's easiest to get hired if you're looking for per diem. If you really want to work at AJ give their human resources department a call and ask if there are any per diem nursing assistant positions available. As long as you've completed your first semester of nursing school you qualify to work as a nursing assistant.

Just curious, what can a new grad expect for salary at AJH? Thanks!
