  1. Yeah I heard on the news how badly the hospitals are being affected by the economy. I am hoping it will be better in a couple of years when I graduate :-) How do you get a job as a tech and what exactly is that?
  2. This is all caused by the economic crisis. Nurses are working more now, taking on extra shifts, and trying to make up for a loss of income they may have encountered. Also, less nurses are retiring. All this means a very limited number of openings for new grads. Nursing positions for new grads will open up gradually as the economy begins to recover (hopefully within the year). My cousin is a nurse manager at childrens in Boston. She is reccomending new grads to look for out of state jobs and get that experience under their belt. By the time they gain the experience the Boston hospitals will have more openings and will be more likely to hire you.
  3. evilolive...are you a new grad? and sarabeth...Anna Jaques DOES hire new grads into med/surg?
  4. I think that salary is very good. It's not much less than what the hospitals in Boston pay, and you dont have to pay all that extra money for rent, food, parking, etc....prices in Boston are so expensive. I'm not graduating for another two years. Is there a chance they will at some point hire new grads? Is there any particular reason they dont hire new grads and has it always been that way? Thanks!
  5. I would like to know the same thing...
