Anyone with experience,
I have an interview in the OR on the 7th of April. It's my first interview and obviously my first opportunity in the OR. Any helpful pointers on the interview for a new grad would be greatly appreciated. There is a six month training period for new grads. Thanks!:)

What helped me tremendously was going through posts on here about interview questions, and there were many that were common to each post, so I assumed they would be brought up at my interview. So, I practiced the answers to those in my head before the interview and when I actually had it, it was SO much easier to answer. I've had 3 new grad interviews and each time they asked me what differentiated me from my peers, what my weaknesses were, how I responded to an emergent situation, how I handled multi-tasking, and what was an instance in which I gave good 'customer service' to a patient.
Good luck!

Agree, look around for interview tips that were posted in other places, and practice before you go. Good luck
Thanks you guys. I love this website!:)
Well, they said I scored high on my first interview. I have a second in a few days (04/13/10). What will the second interview be about? There will be one more manager for a total of 3 during the interview. I can't imagine what the second interview will cover other than critical thinking and some more personality profile questions. Any ideas?! Thanks!

Practice practice practice! Another thing you can do is be confident! I had an interview last week that went really well because I came into that room with the confidence of someone who had worked 20 years as a nurse, and I'm just a lowly new grad with no experience. There were 4 people there and I was so nervous before the interview but everything came into place. They knew my experience was minimal but I think my confidence and determination impressed them because I was offered a job yesterday.
If you did a great job on the first, then I'm sure you'll do another great job on the second. I have no idea what your second interview will include but it sounds like you have it right with critical thinking and personality questions. What kind of questions did they ask during the first interview?
It was a mix of critical thinking and personality questions. They told me how many people were competing for the positions, which made me even more nervous. I just have to calm down and be myself. I want this opportunity more than anything. It's constantly on my mind. Congrats on your new job Brae!
Second interview went well and I found out I GOT THE JOB today! I'm so excited I don't know what to do with myself.
