NEW GRAD, No Experience with Job offer!

Published

I am writing this to inspire everyone who were in my shoes endlessly applying every where... I got interviewed yesterday at a hospital and not just a hospital but one of the best hospitals in the United States... and today they called me and gave me an offer.. Let me tell you guys my story, like all new graduates i have been applying evrywhere and every postings I see on the internet... I ay have applied to like a hundred postings...and this hospital that hired me i have been applying to them too since the first quarter of the year.. and last monday just when I was feeling so down... i got a call for an interview... Food for thoughts... Never give up... just keep on applying... don't ever get discouraged... no matter how hard things are getting... no matter how hard it is to get in... It was really hard for me coz I dnt know anyone in the hospitals or even nursing homes here from where I am.. aside from the fact that all the new nurse graduates are flocking in my area...too much competetion... but I just kept on applying... and for the many times i have applied... I have been declined a countless times too... just after an hour of applying online.. I already get e-mails telling me that they are pursuing another candidate... and my husband keeps telling me that i should keep on trying..and somehow someone will see that effort... I was actually even declined for the job I was offered with at first... but i still tried until it all worked out... the lesson i have learned... if you want a job... go and get it... don't be afraid to approach managers... its what i did... and they will see your effort...

Congratulations! I sense your utter excitement and amazement. Besides tenacity and determination, can you speak more specifically about what led to your success. How did you present yourself and what did you specifically say to nurse managers that, obviously, made a difference? Hope your new job is going as superbly as possible!
