New Grad, New ICU RN ... Book Ideas/Apps

Specialties Critical

Published

Hey guys I am a new grad and am starting in a Trauma ICU ... I was wondering if you had to chose two books/resources to have what would you recommend (Book 1: Quick reference to keep with me at work to look things up on the spot. Book 2: Textbook style reference for more in depth learning when not at work) Thanks so much in advance... Open to other resources and tips you guys have!! Any good apps out there... I'm willing to pay for a good App.

If you find any let me know. I'm in the same boat as you. What I have been doing is going on YouTube to learn the common drugs and machines used in ICU. It's a start. [emoji6]

I am about to start a critical care fellowship and "Fast facts for critical care" by Kathy White was highly recommended. There is a small pocket book or the app. I got them both, not knowing they were the same thing. I got also lab gear, a cheap but great app for labs. Good luck to you!

The AACN procedure manual for critical care is a good resource to learn from at home

That's a great idea Enigma. I'm going to check that out.
