New Grad... not too new can't find job in CT

I can't find a job, I don't know what else to do. This is my story.

I graduated in 2010 with a ADN, and got my CT license the same year. I started to look for a job at the end of 2012 because of some family issues. I have been applying everywhere with no luck. I know that we are living very difficult times now, and I'm feeling very frustrated now. I would love to work anywhere at least until I get my experience. I just applied to an RN to BSN program here in CT and I hope that can help me as well.

Please, any suggestions or if you know of anybody who will hire a grad nurse.

Most of the applications are online, so it is hard to make that first impression, I have applied some jobs in person but most online, with no response.

Please help me, any suggestions will be so appreciated.

I am sorry......the job market is very bad......even for nurses. The economy stinks regardless what the government says. You are no longer a new grad but a nurse 2 years after graduating with no experience. The BSN will probably help for there is a definite preference towards BSN education.

You need to try Long term care/nursing homes, SNF's and LTACH's ...long term acute care. You might try home health but that is a risk as you have no nursing experience to fall back on.

It's a tough market right now...I wish you the best. moved for best response

I graduated from NVCC in Waterbury last May 2012 and I had to move to FL to get a job that was not in LTC. I applied to every hospital in CT multiple times with no responses at all, not even a rejection email. I looked into NY hospitals and they seem to want BSNs and 1 year experience so I didnt even bother. Massachusetts is the same way it seems. Many of my friends I graduated with are working in rehabs and LTC and many are not fulltime.

Thanks for responding, it has been so tough, I do not know what else to do, I have applied to nursing homes, rehab places all over ct, I hope I can find something, it has been over 6 months looking for a job and moving to another state is not an option as I have a family here. I feel so frustrated.
