Hi everyone!! So, I graduated from an ASN program in May and passed my boards in July. I am currently enrolled in a BSN program. Is it possible to get a job as a new grad anywhere in NY. I know it has only been 4 months for me and that some people wait a year but it doesnt even seem like anyone is willing to hire new grads at this point. I have applied to every hospital in Westchester, Rockland County, Putnam County, Orange County, Long Island, the Bronx, and I won't even bother with NYC because I know they are strictly BSN. I have also applied to Nursing homes and Rehab facilities. My friend who went to school with me got a job right away because shes friends with a nurse on a floor who had an opening and literally just handed her resume to the nurse manager and was hired that week. I am trying to stay positive, but I am starting to feel hopeless at the same time. Can anyone offer some advice, besides moving across the country?

you may just have to use all your resources craigslist, monster, nurse.com, go to the unions and hospitals with your resume and well dressed even try clinics and doctors offices working somewhere is better than not working at all and where did you do your preceptor-ship try them.
I have tried all those things. I post my resume on moster and careerbuilder, look on nurse.com everyday - although most of those positions are for the big hospitals in the city who only take BSN. Hospitals turn you away and don't let you speak to anyone in HR when you show up with a resume. I have tried it. Also, I did not have a preceptor-ship. But, the place where my school does most of the clinicals usually hires grads from my school except they are on a hiring freez and trying to get bought out by another hospital so there goes that. I can't seem to catch a break lol!
try archcare or blue leaf staffing i know they take new grads (the agency) but they do not pay that great
