I hate to complain, especially when I know new grads are having such a hard time finding a job, but I'm struggling with an offer I just received. Within the last few months I graduated and passed my NCLEX. Prior to that I had been a paramedic for 18 years. I was fortunate enough to receive an offer from one of the major hospitals in NC, but the issues is, there are no differentials and my hours are limited to 40 per week with an hourly rate under $19.00. If I accept I'm looking at about a 40% pay cut which will be very difficult to raise a family on. I'm trying to see the pay situation as a short term loss for a long term gain. Any advice?
