NEW GRAD - MADISON

U.S.A. Wisconsin

Any suggestions of where to apply in the Madison area for a new ADN grad. I have been denied on every application I have turned in to the 4 Madison hospitals - UW, St. Mary's, Meriter and the VA. I have applied to the hospitals in Stoughton, Columbus and Watertown.

I would prefer to work in a hospital but since I am not having much luck there, I was wondering if anyone had suggestions of other positions like companies that need a nurse on site, school nurse, home health etc.

:thnkg:. . . . . Thanks!!

Specializes in NICU, PICU, Pediatrics.
rnpic,

Mercy in Janesville, does have a Labor and Delivery job posted right now, cross training in Post Partum.

It is nights though, 36 hrs/wk, so guessing it would be 12 hour shifts.

I have applied for those positions at Mercy and never get a call or anything from them. Plus, as much as I would love to work in this area, I don't have any "experience" so am not usually chosen for interview. I have worked night shift for over 10 years, so that's no problem. And personally, when it comes to OB, I would rather get the experience in all of the areas of OB/LDR/Post Partum/Nursery. I think that all nurses should get this experience in this area. When I delivered my son, I had the same nurse for Labor, Delivery, Post Partum, and caring for my son. Thanks for the info though. I wish that I could get a job in this area!

Are you looking for a full time position, or willing to do some form of per diem work?
