Hey all...I got my license in CO in March and have about 4-5 months experience as an LPN. I've already worked 3 jobs.
The company I work for now has me on part-time permanent in one facility and I've just started working as a travel nurse for their in-house agency as well. Now before anybody jumps on me for working agency so soon, I know it's taking a big risk, but I do have some faith in the company and the one assignment I've worked for them was a pleasant experience with lots of support from the DNS.
Unfortunately, there is a chance that I will be terminated from this company because of some concerns that happened on one of my shifts. Not that I'm blaming the facility for my mistakes, but I feel that my orientation was not long enough.
If I do get fired from this company, what I would like to do would be to find a company who puts their money where their mouth is and not only hires new grads, but also makes a concerted effort to actually MENTOR them.
Can anybody suggest a company that has a reputation for such mentorship for new grads? All insights and advice from veteran nurses are much appreciated.
:)

I know that Marquis seems to recruit new grads and they have a mentorship program for RNs (not sure about LPNS). They have quite a few locations in the Portland area.
Good Luck!
Thanks, Raven...I actually interviewd with them and was impressed, but wound up taking another job. So far, my company is keeping me on conditionally, but it's good to hear more good things about Marquis! :)
