New Grad looking to work in Chattanooga Area

Published

Hello everyone!

I will graduate from my BSN program in December. I fell in love with Chattanooga two years ago while I was in town for a stage race sponsored by Rock Creek Outfitters. I would really like to relocate to the area (I currently live in Kentucky), but am not sure to which organizations I should be looking. Are there hospitals in the area that are friendlier to new grads? Are there hospitals in the area that are friendlier to continuing education (as I plan to return for my Masters degree)? I would love to work in a critical care (esp. trauma or neonatal) area but am not coming out of graduation picky about area or shift. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I currently work at Erlanger (as a tech...in nursing school) and think it's a fantastic place to work! Being a teaching hospital, they seem to be very good about working with school schedules. Several of my RN's are currently in school for their BSN's or MSN's and several of us (PCT's) are in nursing or medical school. They are also good about hiring new grads. Erlanger is a Level 1 Trauma Center so you would get tons of good experience no matter which department you choose.

Sorry I don't have info about Memorial or Parkridge for you. Good luck! Chattanooga is a great place to live!!! :)

Hubby and I are moving to Chattanooga after graduation in December. I will be an LPN. Anyone know any good places to work as an LPN in or around Chatt? By the way, good luck to you Charlihoo!
