Im getting discouraged because everything I find says Rn's need 1-2 years experience. Very saturated area and very very hard to find work, particularly when coming from out of state. I would not move until you have a tangible job offer with salary information and an actual start date in hand.

Thankyou for your response, was beginning to get that impression. Houstons my home town was really looking forward to coming home, but cant if I cant find work. Didnt realize finding work would be so difficult after school, its been a real eye opener.

It stinks. Keep a watch here - sometimes people post about internships. You could consider areas around Houston, like Scott and White, which is just a few hours to the north and has great internships.

St. Luke's Tx Med Center (www.sleh.org) is currently accepting applicants for its "Winter 2012 Graduate Nurse Residency Program." For Aug & Dec 2011 BSN grads; 3.0 gpa requirement. Like all residency programs this one is extremely competitive.

And as others said, it is very tough for new grads to get jobs right now. So get started early and apply everywhere. Good luck

A few are opened in Houston and in Texas in general. Good luck!
