A friend of mine is a new GN, and was accepted to Parkland's OR GN program. Check out Parkland as well. They have both ICU and OR programs. The OR program is 9 months long. I'm not sure about the ICU one. They're both very competitive to get into from what I understand, but also very good (hence why people apply to them from all over the country).
Alright. I spoke with him. He said that last year, they opened them up in March for the programs that begin in summer, but that the date is variable. It's just kind of "whenever it goes out." So he thinks it'll be very soon, but not sure how soon.
There's a "contact us" link for more information here: Critical Care and Trauma Nurse Internships - Parkland Health and Hospital System
My advise based on what I understand is, "Talk to people at Parkland. Don't just submit the application."

Hello allnurses!
I will be graduating with my BSN in May from a school in Oklahoma, but am looking to relocate to Dallas (I grew up there :)). However, I do not have many connections in nursing there. I have been reading feeds on allnurses and doing my own research, but am still unsure as to what each hospital is looking for. I spoke with a Recruiter from Baylor and she said to post nursing gpa and all clinical sites on my resume. Is this standard for every Dallas hospital? I am primarily looking for a nurse residency/internship in ICU or OR.
Any advice for the application/interview process would be greatly appreciated!
