Hello everyone, I just have a couple questions if anyone has free time to answer.
I'll be graduating from a WV school where I have already submitted an application for a WV license by Examination. However, I do not graduate until May 16th, so I do not have an "ATT" or an NCLEX date yet.
I recently accepted a job at Carilion Roanoke Memorial in the OR and will be moving to Roanoke in June.
What is the process and turn-around on getting a VA License by Endorsement from WV?
Is there anything I can do to expedite the process?
Do I need to have a WV License before I can submit an endorsement to VA?
Can I practice in VA with my WV Temporary after graduation under a grace-period while the VA BON is approving my endorsement?

Why don't you just apply directly to the VA BON and take the NCLEX for a Virginia license?
Thanks for the reply! The reason I haven't directly applied to VA by Examination is I've already done so in WV and that was a pretty drawn out process. I just found out about this Roanoke offer a few weeks ago and I graduate in 11 days, so time is pretty short. Would there be a way to have WV send my information/background, etc to VA in this period?
I'll be honest, my school administration has not been the best source of information, that's why I have so many dumb questions.
In WV:
I have completed the State and Federal Background Checks
I have paid the 70$ Application Fee and Submitted this to the WV BoN.
Thanks
Plot Twist. I just read that VA doesn't require background checks as it seems WV does.
I also found this gem on the VA RN Board site regarding License by Endorse
"A new graduate scheduled to take the NCLEX for licensure in a non-compact state may practice in Virginia for a 90 dayperiod
beginning with the graduation date provided the completed endorsement application, required fee and a copy ofthe authorization to test letter from the testing service have been received in this office and acknowledged."
So. It ends up in my absolute frenzy and spazzing, that applying by examination in VA, is indeed the fastest option.
VA doesn't run any background checks. They have a 30 day turn around on new apps. They just require the application, transcripts, a letter stating your school completes 500 clinical hours, and registration through Pearson Vue for NCLEX.
I applied to VA via Exam on May 6th, Registered with Pearson Vue 5/7. Graduate 5/16. Kaplan Review 5/19-22. Move to VA 6/8. Tentative Start Date at CRMH is either 6/15 or 6/29. Thanks!
