New grad jobs Tampa Bay area

Published

Hey all... I will be graduating in late April with a BSN, HOPING to pass boards by May-June-ish. I am coming from out of state to the Tampa Bay area with family.

I have been looking at TGH, Florida Hospital (tampa, wesley chapel, carrollwood), Bayfront, and St. Joe's, (possible Sarasota Memorial), but I know it will be hard coming from out of state with not many connections.

I was planning on getting an Ohio license first, then getting a temporary FL license while I wait for the permanent because my advisor said this would be the quickest (if not, it would take 3 weeks for my application to get to the FL board because of my transcript).

So...does anyone have any advice

I'm on the hunt too but only have my ADN..its been rough. Anyway, I dont know if you are aware that FL hospital only hires new grads through their new grad program. You'll want to check their website to see when the next program starts. Baycare has quite a few hospitals in the area and I know they prefer BSN grads. I did hear that Sarasota Memorial is always looking for BSN grads. I know your graduation is a ways away but I'd start applying early. Apparently I missed the memo that applying 3-4 months before graduation is preferred. Good luck!

Hmm that is good to hear. I did talk to HR at FL hospital and they told me about that unfortunately. Thank you for the advice and good luck with your job hunt! I know it is stressful
