New grad job interview

Published

Hi! I'm new here so I'm not sure where the best place for my question would be but here goes. I will graduate in May with my ADN so I'm in the middle of applying for my first job. I was surprised to get an invitation from Duke for an interview/open house for their cardiothoracic step-down unit. The interview is next week. Can anyone tell me what the open house/interview will be like? I know there will be a lot of behavioral-type questions and I am terrified! Any advice anyone can give me would be great!

Good luck on your interview! I'm on the hunt, too, and I've had a lot of repeating themes: Be prepared to talk about how you work with patients with different cultural values, an experience with someone who "you didn't get along with" or how you handled a difficult superior, your strengths and weaknesses, why you are applying to that particular unit. Be prepared but don't overpractice! Don't feel too nervous, if it is the right job for you, you will find the right words!
