There's a forum here at AN dedicated to Nursing Interview Help. Definitely check out the FAQ tab as well. Other advice: Don't wait until the day of the interview to ask for advice. Preparation should begin early. If this job doesn't work out, keep that in mind for the next interview.
Most importantly be confident. Smile, make eye contact, shake hands, be polite, dress to impress (conservative suit or collared shirt, flats, hair pulled back, minimal makeup-sorry I'm assuming your female). Bring copies of your resume and attach a letter of redemption (basically a revamp of your cover letter). If it's a panel interview make sure you bring enough for every one. Good luck! Don't forget to breathe!
The school and the degree don't matter so much as the licensure. You are an RN and that's all a lot of employers of direct patient care nurses care about. Some BSNs do great, some sink. Same with ADNs. True nursing is not about the school you attended or your GPA but about if you will sink or swim in the REAL world as they say.. .
Hi everyone!I'm a new grad and I have an interview today. I did not go to the most prestigious school and I have an associates. The interview is with a hospital. I really want this job. Any questions I should be prepared for in particular? Or any advice that could help me?
Thanks in advance!
