I am applying to the medicine floor of a hospital and I would love your input on my cover letter! I am applying under the new grad initiative, which is something they have in Ontario but I'm not sure if America has it as well. The posting emphasized experience in GI med and palliative care. Constructive criticism greatly appreciated!

I am interested in applying for the position of Registered Nurse on a Medical Inpatient Unit, as advertised on the XYZ Hospital career website. I am bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese and I graduated from ABC University in September 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I cared for many patients with gastrointestinal issues and applied critical thinking when caring for patients with ulcerative colitis, Crohn's, acute gastrointestinal bleeding, and more.

I enjoy working with the elderly and I learned to care for the unique needs of the geriatric population during my experience as a care provider in home care. I have earned a reputation among my supervisor, my clients, and their families, as a reliable, compassionate, and knowledgeable individual. I provide holistic care by learning about my patients' unique values and goals and collaborating to create care plans that target their physical and emotional health. Through actions like offering massages, I demonstrate my commitment to utilizing my strengths to improve their quality of life.
