Hi,
This is all new to me. I worked, full time, continuously. Worked 13 yrs in hospital and 10 yrs in city clinic/primary care setting. I have no interest in any full time or permanent work, because after 23 yrs I can spend more time with my family and doing hobbies that I never had time for in the past. I worked in the trenches when I worked in the hospital. I still want to work and further my education. I am considering becoming a childbirth educator or lactation consultant. I have to look at the investment of the time/money for further education and the potential of getting work in the Austin, Texas area, in these occupations.
I have had poor success on the internet to spell out what all possibilities are out there, but found some great sites for information/education for those particular occupations.
Would also consider anything involving patient education.
Looking for ideas from any nurses and feedback from those experienced in patient education.
Thanks
