New to Agency Nursing

Published

Okay - so I think I've found my knack! I hope that I'm have at least. I have decided, with much debate, to start looking into temp agencies for full time work working pool LPN....I have an interview with Top Tech Temporaries Inc. on Friday morning. They said that they will talk with about what pool nursing is like and what I can expect - of course they say to bring in current CPR card (which I will renew tomorrow), TB skin test (which I will ask current job for a copy of), and my driver's license and nursing license - anyways my point to this posting was this: I've spent the last few hours on here looking at this forum and absorbing as much information (the good, the bad, the ugly) about agency nursing, and I have seen lots of agency names thrown around but I have not seen anyone mention they went through Top Techs Temporaires Inc - I'm not sure if this agency is specific for Wisconsin but I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about this specific place.

Any information would be helpful,

I am not from that area and i don't know anything about that particular agency. I have, however, worked for several agencies in the past. It's worth a look to check their history. Are they a large employer? Some "mom and pop" agencies are out there and you can run into trouble if they aren't experienced with business. I worked for one of the smaller agencies once and 150 employees showed up to collect their checks (mine too) only to be told "sorry, we've had some problems with checks bouncing, it's going to be a couple weeks." Just a warning as you seem new at this stuff. I hope your experience is a good one, I always enjoyed agency work.
