I work at Beth Israel, I applied for a telemetry tech job on the cardiac floor I now work on as an RN 4 months before I graduated. Got the job, then the nurse manager offered me a job on the floor as nurse (pending graduation and passing the boards) 4 weeks after I started working as a telemetry tech. Interview took about 3 minutes, she asked if I would work on the floor after I graduated, I said yes, went to human resources got my start date and have been there for 10 months. I knew that I wanted to work at city hospital and was told by the previous graduating class to position myself within the hospital I wanted to work at to increase my chance of employment. I have a few classmates who did the same, one works at Children's, one at Mass General, and the other with me at BI. From what I am hearing ADN and BSN new grads are having a tough time finding jobs. But be persistent because hospitals tend to hire new grads in spurts. I know that a floor at BI just hired 15 or so new grads in the past 3 months.
