Hello everyone. Just curious as to how your first week was for Anatomy and Physiology. I know some of you said you have started. Does it seem like it's going to be interesting or overwhelming??? or both ? I don't start for another 2 weeks. I am taking my final for Principles of Biology this Wed, and I get a week off of school between summer and fall semester. Well let me know how things are going. Do you think it is going to be lots and lots of homework????

I just finished Biology about 2 weeks ago. I have never had to cram so much complicated information into my brain in a time span of 10 weeks.
The homework part depends on the instructor. Our Bio teacher, who usually teaches A&P, gave us 6 exams in that 10 weeks. 4 of them had take home assignments that counted as part of the grade- usually essay writing. So I figure his A&P class goes about the same- but I don't have him this coming term. I looked up my A&P professor on Ratemyprofessor.com and it looks like he gives no extra assignments- just 3 tests and that's it for the grade. Now i wish I had my Bio instructor this term, as the extra assignments helped grade-wise.

My A&P teacher says she gives extra credit on all quizes and Exams. We have 15 quizzes and she drops the lowest five. We also have 4 tests and she drops the lowest one, she uses the averaged quiz grades as a test score (that cannot be dropped). We also have a comprehensive final (200 questions). My teacher is really nice, and really fair, she told us right up front that the class takes a lot of studying, and if we fall behind we'll have a hard time. She also uses chapter outlines (LOVE HER!!) on which we take all the notes we'll need for the test. I know it will take a lot of studying, but I think its gonna be OK. Good Luck!

I dropped my A&P in the Spring because my instructor was HORRIBLE. She could barely speak english and so on. Needless to say, she's not teaching it this year.
I stayed in the class as long as I could though so I could possibly learn SOME. It is a LOT to learn in such a short amount of time. It's also a lot of memorization. I have the worst memory.
I've got an awesome instructor this time around though, so I'm hoping it will be a bit easier.
I'm glad we don't have quizzes....that's a LOT of quizzes you have! Our grade is based on lecture tests (we'll have 6) that account for 75% of our grade and lab tests (6 of these also) that will account for 25% of our grade. But they'll drop our lowest test score. We will also get 100% test score as a "7th" test if we have perfect attendance and no tardies.
