Never thought of it being accredited or not til I read it on the forum..

I had seen someone posting about going to an accredited school, because if you want to further your career its best to go to an accredited school. I just had to check the school I want to go to and it says

"CTC (Charlotte Technical Center)programs are accredited by the Council on Occupational Education and have approval of Veterans’ Training by the Division of Veterans’ Benefits and Assistance."

Charlotte Technical Center is Accredited by:

Council on Occupational Education

41 Perimeter Center East, NE

Atlanta, GA 30346

"approved by the State of Florida, Florida Board of Nursing"

Does that mean it is accredited? Im not looking to go any higher than RN. But right now I just want to start out as an LPN. They say that the credits can transfer(Im assuming if I want to pursue an RN license).

And its the closest to where Ill be living. Please reply because Im not sure. Thanks:bugeyes:

If I were you I would call the school....and ask them...it's the best way to be sure

Then call whoever does the accredidation in your area to double check...you don't want to waste your money so I would check first! Good Luck!:nurse:

The organizations that you list are not organizations that accredit "regular" colleges and universities. I hate to sound paranoid and/or cynical, but I would not take the school's word for it that their courses would transfer to other schools -- I would call colleges and universities in your area with nursing (RN) programs (the registrar's office is who you want to talk to) and ask them if they accept/transfer courses from that school. I would also check with the FL BON and make sure that they really have approved the school for licensure (and that approval is current). :uhoh21:

I don't know anything about the specific organization you're talking about (CTC) and am not making any comment about them in particular, but there are operations (schools) out there that are basically scams and will tell you anything you want to hear in order to get your tuition $$$. One of the major newspapers in my state did a series of investigational/exposé articles a couple years ago about problem "schools" in our state. It's smart to be sure of what you're getting into.

Best wishes! :balloons:

I agree with elkpark. Don't take the school's word for that sort of thing. Call other colleges in your are to see if they accept credits transferred from the school you are interested in.
