Hi
I'm going to be taking the NET test for GCU in August. Does anyone know if it's math and reading or does it include science? I'm a little nervous about it. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. I'm using a study guide and a website. I score ok. Do you receive your score immediately after the test or do you have to wait a few weeks?
Thanks!!!!

Its just math and reading.. everyone says the reading is the challenging part you have like 36 questions in like 30 mins i think... and some are big paragraphs... u can skip through questions and answer all the ones you know first you only need to get a 50% in reading and math... buy the NET hobit help book they offer at the bookstore!!! it helped me pass it no problem at all... You know your score immediately.. its really nothing to be nervous about at all.. good luck!!!

Hi, I took the NET test last year. I bought the Study Guide @ http://www.eriworld.com and read the Net prep. workbook at the following link: http://healthcare.maricopa.edu/pdfDocs/NET_Preparation.pdf.
It will also take you to a website (http://www.townsendpress.com) for practice reading exercises and quizzes that helped me a lot to pass it. I am native French so I needed all the help I could get with reading and I passed it and I even had extra time! Make sure that you time yourself on the reading part. Regarding the math part, you should have plenty of time to answer the questions. Practice, practice, practice and you will succeed.

I took it at Gateway a few months ago. It did indeed include about 20 or so science questions. This was after the reading and math part. I wasnt aware of this beforehand.
I think It depends on the school and which version of the test they have.

I aced the math (but had expected to ace the reading). I did poorly on the reading 70-something out of 100 as I ran out of time before answering a LOAD of questions. On the other hand, the test results indicated that I had a college professor reading level. That's weird to me.
I think my mistake was taking my good old time on the reading questions. --I had finished the math way ahead of time and so expected the rest of the test to be like that.
Also, there was no visible timer on the computer interface --something I was used to from all my other classes.
I also think the NET's reading questions and material are poorly written. --I have a background that includes editing and writing, so I feel like I am able to critique them.
I used Kaplan's preparatory material, and I did very well on all their questions - math and reading - well within time limits. I studied quite a bit of science material, too, but did not find that on the NET.
Best advice --move fast on the reading. Wear a watch and look at it when you start and while you're in the middle of the reading test.
