I am 32, mother of 2 beautiful girls 9 & 5. I am starting nursing school in the LPN program at Gville Tech this semester. I was accepted the 1st time that I applied and will be going all the way through to RN. We have 3 sets that start fall semester, I am starting in the last set in November. I am excited but yet scared to death. Ill also be taking Western Civ, Micro225, and an online class also.

I am a straight A student but dont have the confidence when it comes to test taking and I find myself getting sick to my stomach once I even start thinking about being with new ppl in a new environment every 5 weeks. None of my group of friends are starting with me they were going to transfer to USC upstate up until the lawsuits came about over there, so they have decided to stay at GT but have to apply for spring.

Ive always been told I was a failure and even with the good grades and making the Deans list every semester I still have doubts that I can do this and the NCLEX well I dont even want to go there Im already paniced about that HA HA HA

((hugs)) to you. You CAN do this! You sound like an excellent student. I'm sorry anyone made you feel badly about yourself. I have a touch of social anxiety, so I feel your pain with the meeting new people thing. Just remember, everyone is *just* as nervous as you are. If you ever need an ear, PM me! I'm an almost 30 year old mother of 2 (2 and 4) and I'm nervous as well. If it didn't matter so much, we wouldn't be nervous, right? Keep your eye on the prize mama, you can do this!

You CAN do it....Study and pray. I am a 29 yr old wife and mom of 3 and it gets tough but I continue pressing forward in hopes of making things a little easier for my family financially. Be blessed and enjoy the ride.

Thats why I started this journey because my husband has been working all his adult life but he lost his job in march and is currently waiting on a decision due to his poor health, he is 37 with the body of a 75-80 yr old. I have to be able to provide for us because he is not able to.

Yes changes bother me and being with new ppl is hard I always feel like Im being judged and the list goes on and on.

I enjoy nursing school but worry if I will be strong enough to get through this. THank you for your replies, I realize that others are nervous also but they seem so much more confident to me. I just keep praying and telling myself that "I know not what the future holds but I know who holds the future." and " I can do all things thru Christ whom gives me strength"

As a good friend of mine always says PRESS ON

I know how you feel. I am SOOO nervous about clinicals as well but excited at the same time. I am taking micro and human growth and development this spring. I am not sure yet if I will try to get in for spring 11 or summer/fall 11.

I have 3 children ages 5, 3 and 20 months and I am also 15 weeks pregnant right now. This last semester was a killer for me b/c I have had bad all day morning sickness and throwing up nearly every day the whole semester. It was sooooo hard to get through my classes! I ended up with B's instead of A's this semester which I was bummed about but at the same time, I did the best I could considering how sick I have been. So Im nervous about how I will get through this spring semester as Im still throwing up almost daily and my new classes start in about 2 weeks.

I am nervous about this whole new adventure that I am on but looking at my childrens little faces I know I can and must do this for my family and I feel that this is the path I am meant to take.

I see that you posted this in July so you have already started your clinicals there at Greenville tech. How is it so far? What is it like? I would LOVE to hear!!!

Wow Mezabeth KUDOS to you! And along with everyone else on this post.. I am in the process of taking pre-reqs and the TEAS test and I am nervous about that.. Nursing school is a whole other story.. LOL Way nervous about that. I am a mother of 5. 2 step kids in high school and 3 of my own ranging fom 14-7. Keeps it interesting. I am more worried about the balance of doing everything for them and school. Any suggestions on keeping a routine down pat and what works for anyone else. I am up for suggestions!:yeah:
